Skills
During childhood and adolescence, cognitive, executive, emotional, and social skills continue to develop. Functions such as sustained attention, working memory, inhibition, cognitive flexibility, and emotional regulation are involved in learning, decision-making, and adapting to the demands of everyday life.
Their development does not follow the same course for everyone, but is shaped according to the age, developmental profile, environment & the demands faced by each child or adolescent.
The functional image may include:
-
Difficulty maintaining attention or completing activities
-
Difficulty retaining & processing information
-
Limited ability to organize, plan, or manage time
-
Difficulty inhibiting impulsive reactions
-
Reduced flexibility when transitioning between activities or demands
-
Difficulty regulating arousal or emotional intensity
-
Mental fatigue during demanding activities
These difficulties do not constitute a diagnosis in themselves. They are evaluated in relation to age, their duration, the conditions in which they manifest themselves & their impact on learning, social & daily functioning.
The contribution of qEEG Brain Mapping & EEG Neurofeedback
qEEG Brain Mapping does not directly measure skills, does not assess intelligence & is not a stand-alone diagnostic tool. It records & analyzes the electrical activity of the brain, providing data on its function, which is taken into account with the developmental history, clinical assessment & the overall picture of each individual.
During EEG Neurofeedback, the brain receives visual & auditory feedback, which changes according to its electrical activity. Training can focus on functions such as regulating alertness, maintaining attention & managing emotional tension.
The program is designed individually, based on the qEEG Brain Mapping data, the history & functional profile of each individual. EEG Neurofeedback can be integrated into a broader support framework & does not replace appropriate developmental, educational, medical or psychological support.
With the aim of:
Strengthening the ability to maintain attention
Supporting working memory & information processing
Improving the ability to organize & complete activities
Strengthening flexibility in changing conditions
Improving the regulation of alertness & emotional intensity
Support for learning, social & daily functioning
