Adult with fatigue and anxiety - neurofeedback for combination of symptoms in Athens

Coexistence of symptoms

Problems in daily functioning do not always occur in isolation. Difficulty concentrating, unrefreshing sleep, persistent tension, mental fatigue, or intense emotional reactions may coexist or even interact. Their coexistence, however, does not necessarily mean that they have the same cause or that they correspond to a specific diagnosis.

The coexistence of symptoms may include:

  • Difficulty concentrating & mental fatigue

  • Difficulty sleeping & reduced energy during the day

  • Persistent tension & irritability

  • Intense emotional reactions & difficulty recovering

  • Reduced motivation & inability to start or complete tasks

  • Changes in performance depending on the demands of everyday life

The assessment is not limited to recording the symptoms themselves. The history, their temporal evolution, the conditions of everyday life & the way in which they interact are important to consider in order to form an overall picture.

The contribution of qEEG Brain Mapping & EEG Neurofeedback

qEEG Brain Mapping does not determine the cause of a set of symptoms & is not a stand-alone diagnostic tool. It records & analyzes the electrical activity of the brain, providing data on its function, which is taken into account with the history & overall picture of each individual.

During EEG Neurofeedback, the brain receives real-time visual & auditory feedback, which changes depending on its electrical activity. Based on the qEEG Brain Mapping data, training can focus on one or more functions, such as regulating alertness, maintaining attention & managing emotional intensity.

The program is individually designed, based on the functional profile of each brain, as reflected in the qEEG Brain Mapping data. EEG Neurofeedback can be integrated as a complement into a broader framework of care & treatment, while it does not replace appropriate medical or psychological monitoring.

With the aim of:

  • Enhancement of the ability to regulate alertness, attention & emotional intensity

  • Greater flexibility in responding to everyday demands

  • Limiting the impact of coexisting difficulties on daily functioning
