Third Age

Aging is a normal process & is accompanied by biological, cognitive & social changes, which do not manifest in the same way or to the same extent in everyone.

Some changes, such as slower processing of new information or occasional difficulty in recalling it, may be part of normal aging. However, when changes become more pronounced, progress, or affect daily functioning, it is important to have them evaluated clinically.

Changes in cognitive function can include:

  • Slower information processing

  • Difficulty concentrating or maintaining attention

  • Changes in memory function

  • Difficulty organizing, making decisions, or adapting to new situations

  • Mental fatigue or reduced endurance in complex activities

  • Changes in sleep, alertness, or emotional regulation

The contribution of qEEG Brain Mapping & EEG Neurofeedback

qEEG Brain Mapping is not a stand-alone diagnostic tool & cannot by itself distinguish the changes of normal aging from a mild cognitive impairment or other neurological condition. It records & analyzes the electrical activity of the brain, providing data on its function, which is taken into account with the history & overall picture of each individual.

During EEG Neurofeedback, the brain receives real-time visual & auditory feedback, which changes according to its electrical activity. The training focuses on functions such as maintaining attention, regulating alertness & mental endurance.

The program is designed individually, based on the qEEG Brain Mapping data, the history & the needs of each individual. EEG Neurofeedback can be integrated complementary into a broader framework of care & does not replace medical or neuropsychological evaluation, especially when new or progressive changes in memory & daily functioning are observed.

With the aim of:

  • Strengthening the ability to maintain attention

  • Support for memory function & information processing

  • Improving the ability to regulate alertness & emotional intensity

  • Supporting mental toughness & daily functioning
